Established in 2000, Serenco UK is a wholesaler that supplies automotive and industrial tool distributors across the UK and Ireland.They boast a comprehensive portfolio of products including their own range of BOXO hand tools and tool storage to meet the growing demands of the professional marketplace. Serenco UK also source from the UK, USA, Europe and the Far East, which means they only sell products from the best manufacturers and suppliers from around the world.
Whether it’s their own brands of products or those from renowned manufacturers such as Milwaukee and Knipex, Serenco’s innovative tools are designed to solve tomorrow’s challenges.
As a supplier to the automotive industry, Serenco UK also provide safety applications - such as those for car recovery. These applications require a specialised wire rope assembly to work effectively.
The Products
The Challenge
Serenco UK contacted SWR to create and deliver these wire rope assemblies on a large scale. Initial stages of the project meant consulting with the customer to establish the design of the wire rope assembly.
We also created a prototype for approval before mass production could begin. Once approved, the team set to work fulfilling the monthly bulk order as requested by the customer.
The assembles consist of galvanised 7x19 wire rope of 8mm thickness and 1200mm in length. Plastic tubing also sits down the middle of each cable
In addition, the production team mechanically press soft eyes with ferrules at both ends of each assembly. Finally, every assembly is stamped with the Working Load Limit and a unique sequential ID number for easy traceability.
The Results
We now deliver 150 wire rope assemblies to Serenco UK every month – with the potential for further projects down the line.
