SWR supply a wide range of winch ropes for the UK winch market. There are two popular constructions, 7X19 and 6X36. 6X36 provides a superior breaking load and is a more flexible wire rope, often achieving a greater longevity over the 7X19 construction.

All are supplied with high quality safety hooks at one end with the other end being fused and tapered to prevent fraying and provide easy installation. We can also fit end stops to the “free “ ends when specified.

There is a wide range of safety hooks available depending upon your requirement. Quite often a customer will specify a standard eye type safety hook as (fig 1). However, heavy duty eye type safety hooks (fig 2) and eye type swivel safety hooks (fig 3) are now becoming increasingly popular with customers requiring additional quality. The other end of the winch rope is often supplied with a fused and tapered end (fig 4) or an end stop (fig 5) to suit location on the drum. Click on an image below to enlarge.

All winch ropes are produced with individual identification numbers ensuring full traceability under our ISO9001 production system.

SWR also has its own in-house testing facility where we proof load and destruction test to ensure our winch rope production meets the highest standards.
